SINOPSIS

Kenia is a gripping 6-episode miniseries that blends betrayal, power and an intense search for identity. Set in the dark world of diamond trafficking, the series follows Kenia, a young Afro-Argentine woman whose life changes radically after witnessing the brutal murder of her father. At the age of 13, Kenya witnesses the death of her father, Federico, at the hands of Bonuccelli, a dangerous capo seeking to control the trafficking of a valuable African diamond. Narrowly escaping, Kenya is trapped in a world she does not fully understand, but which she is determined to challenge. At the center of the conflict, Xuan, an influential Argentine businessman of Chinese origin, also covers the diamond and Federico’s connections. As Xuan and Bonuccelli clash for control of the business, Kenya becomes a key player in a battle of power and betrayal.

Throughout the episodes, Kenya struggles not only to survive, but to understand her own place in this criminal network. Guided by her father’s legacy and her ancestral connection to Africa, the young woman embarks on a dangerous journey to uncover her family’s secrets and confront the men who want to destroy her.

This is me: Wisny Dorce

Wisny Dorce is an emerging filmmaker, screenwriter and producer with Afro-descendant roots, whose creative approach combines powerful, socially relevant narratives with a distinctive visual aesthetic. Throughout his career, Dorce has excelled at telling stories that explore themes of identity, social justice and the complexities of power dynamics, focusing on the experiences of marginalized communities and deeply human characters. Her work aims not only to entertain, but also to challenge audience perceptions of race, class and belonging.

Wisny Dorce began her journey in the film industry independently, founding Blacexistence Films, a production company committed to creating content that gives visibility to the stories of Afro descendant and other minority communities in Latin America. Her bold and original vision allowed her to quickly gain recognition for

her narrative approach and her ability to tell emotional and socially impactful stories.

One of Dorce’s most notable projects is the film El Afortunado, winner of several film festival awards and screened in 14 theaters in Argentina during 2020. He was also a pioneer with the miniseries Los Hermanos Afro, the first serie in Argentina starring Afro-descendant actors, which aired on three TV channels and two streaming platforms, marking a milestone in the representation of Afro-descendants.

Dorce has captured the attention of not only the local film industry in Argentina, but also international audiences interested in stories that challenge the traditional norms of Latin American cinema. Through his production company, he seeks to expand the reach of Afro-Latin cinema and bring relevant stories to the big screen, with a focus on diversity, inclusion and minority empowerment.

The filmmaker has given more than 45 interviews in countries such as Argentina, United States, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay and Haiti, highlighting his mission to give voice to historically silenced communities. His international trajectory led him to be invited to give an important lecture at the prestigious University of Virginia on November 5th, 2021, where he presented his vision and work in Argentina, marking a before and after in the representation of Afro-descendant communities in Latin American cinema.

Since 2022, Wisny Dorce resides in the United States, where he is actively working as Director of Photography and Camera Operator in Indianapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, consolidating his international career and reaffirming his

commitment to creating cinema that drives social change. Dorce continues his work as a visionary filmmaker, committed to transforming conventional narratives and giving a platform to voices that have been marginalized by history.
